Assembly Service
We appreciate that recycling your bed or mattress is not always an easy task, which is why we offer a fast, convenient, and environmentally friendly recycling service.
We will collect your old bed or mattress from your home when we deliver your new one and recycle it at the Dreams specialised bed and mattress recycling centre. Mattresses are disassembled and every part is utilised; springs are melted down, fibres are recycled, and foam can be cleaned to make carpet underlay.
Our recycling service is available to purchase at checkout.
Our prices for recycling differ depending on what item you'd like us to take away. You can select the recycling service at checkout.
Single mattresses - £40
Double mattresses - £50
King & super king mattresses - £55
Bed frames & divan bases - £40
Sofa beds (not including standard sofas) - £45
Headboards - £25
To make sure we can take away the items to be collected or returned as safely and quickly as possible, we will ask you to wrap and seal all the component parts in the disposal bags we will send out to you in advance.
We will send you green bags for items being collected as part of our recycling service, and clear bags for items being replaced.
If you do not receive your bags within 48 hours of your delivery date, please get in touch with our Customer Services team on 01243 380600, who will arrange for another set to be sent.
The mattress to be collected must be wrapped, sealed with sticky tape and ready before the delivery team arrives. Super king (6-feet wide) mattresses will not be entirely covered by the bag. To wrap these, please slit the side of the bag and seal it with sticky tape on the protruding edge.

How to get your bed frame, divan, or sofa bed ready for collection
Please dismantle your old bed frame or the bed to be replaced and pack all the nuts and bolts in a small bag (not provided). Your divan base should be empty and half-bases should be unlinked and any headboard removed.
Please follow these packing guidelines:
Bed frame: wrap the head end and foot end in one bag, the side rails and nuts and bolts in a second bag and the slats in a third.
Divan: wrap a single divan in one bag and half bases in one bag each.
Headboard: wrap in one bag.
Sofa bed: wrap each end of the sofa bed with a bag so completely covered.
When the components are wrapped, please close the bags and seal shut with sticky tape.
Provided all items to be collected are correctly wrapped and sealed when the delivery team arrive, they will remove them to their van during the course of the visit. Regrettably, items that are not properly prepared and ready cannot be collected.
Firstly, we disassemble your mattress. All the different materials are separated and compacted into large bales to help save space when we transport to other recycling destinations.
We send metal springs to a metal recycling plant where they are melted down into new light iron products. Polyester padding is used by the fibre blending industry and can be used in various things, even the fillings in your pet’s cushions! The foam in your mattress is used in either energy from waste generation or it can be cleaned and used to make carpet underlay. It’s difficult to recycle mattress covers due to hygiene, so they are turned into fuel as an alternative to fossil fuels, creating green energy and heat.
We are constantly working alongside our recycling partner to research and explore new uses for the parts of your mattress.
