Headboard Styles for Every Bedroom
Headboard styles have come a long way and have an interesting history attached to them. In Ancient Egypt headboards were a sign of social status and made of wood to help keep the bed’s occupants warm. The Ancient Greeks then started using cushioned headboards and many also depicted early drawings. The Middle Ages saw the introduction of four poster beds, another status symbol; and finally, the Victorians preferred an iron bedstead.
Today, we are spoilt by a plethora of headboard styles, from indulgent upholstered headboards to painted, wooden and metal headboards. So, the question is how to choose a headboard? We firmly believe your bedroom should be a sanctuary and creating a style that flows throughout the room is important. Headboards can be decorative or functional, but what unifies them, is that they will always be central to your bedroom’s architecture.
French Style Headboards
